We read each listing
CarCompare fetches each page and pulls out price, mileage, year, engine, transmission, drivetrain, features, and photos — normalizing data from completely different sites into one consistent format.

AI fills in the gaps
A lot of listings leave out basic specs. Where that happens, CarCompare fills in the typical factory spec for that exact year/make/model/trim — clearly marked with an asterisk, so you always know what came from the actual listing versus a general estimate.

Which sites does it work with?
Most dealership sites and public listing pages work well, since they publish structured vehicle data. Some sites — Facebook Marketplace in particular — block automated access entirely and won't extract; CarCompare tells you clearly when that happens instead of failing silently.
How accurate are the AI-filled specs?
AI only fills in generic facts about a car's year/make/model/trim (like horsepower or engine size) — never anything specific to the individual listing, like mileage, price, or condition, which only the actual listing or an inspection can tell you. Every AI-filled value is marked with an asterisk.
